Indoor sconces are an unobtrusive size, yet offer lighting for both functional and decorative uses. They work wherever you want soft light, such as in an entryway, hallway, bathroom, bedroom and in the ever-popular theater room. These sconces can also add complimentary ˝mood˝ lighting around a favorite Southwest painting or gorgeous entry art display.
Some companies make their sconces out of clay, leaving the natural look and feel of the material intact. Other than the light emanating from inside, they look like historic artifacts that may have come from an archaeological dig.
A great way to give any room in the home a warm and welcoming look is to take advantage of candle wall sconces. Anyone will find that when sconces are used, a room can take on a whole new look.
There are several styles of sconces available. There are sconces that get hard wired into your homes and sconces that have a cord that can be plug in. With these options you will be able to make a permanent lighting fixture in your home. Or you will be able to move it around such as a table lamp. Some options that make this type of lighting fixture very versatile are the use of a dimmer switch. This will allow you to dim or brighten a room to meet your lighting needs.
Another good spot to install wall sconces is your bathroom. Place a sconce squarely on both sides of the mirror, above the wash basin. Alternatively if room doesn't allow it, you could place them directly onto the mirror, maybe one on each of the lower or upper corners. The aesthetics of your bathroom will look their best if you use candles.
