Wall lights are a type of kitchen lighting fixtures that are typically mounted to the wall. They can take the form of scones matching a pendant, ceiling fixture or a chandelier. They can either deliver task, accent or general lighting. Some of the common locations where wall lights are used include on either sides of a piece of art, a decorative back-splash, or used to create a focal point of a hutch.
Larger pendants and chandeliers are common place in a kitchen over an eating area. These provide an anchor above your table and complete the space whether it is portioned off by a wall or is a part of another room.
Up Light Pendants - Up Light Pendants are fixtures that shine light upward. This type is great for basic lighting, as the light shines skyward and can enlarge a space with ease. One will find that ceramic, glass or wooden pendant lights in this style make a statement.
I have always loved the kitchen. In fact, it is my most favorite room in the house. Considering that I love everything there is to do about food (the tasty ones, that is), that comes as no surprise. I believe that the kitchen is one of the most important parts of the room. We need food to nourish us, calm us and all other purposes you might think of, and these foods are made and cooked inside the kitchen. You might recall a time when you have thought you have gone to heaven after tasting your mother home-made steak, or the time when you mouth watered from the smell of the brownies cooking in the oven. There is no doubt about it: this is the place tinkle and prattle of pans, plates, spoons, knives and ovens. Put simply, it is where all the accessories to make food are housed. For me, that sounds like paradise. Food heaven is what I call the kitchen.
Small portable lamps can be placed on counters where there are no upper cabinets. You might also be able to find one small enough to go under the upper cabinets. These will most always have a clip on shade. Meaning, it‘s a shade that fastens to your light bulb and isn’t connected to the body of the lamp.
