Another good spot to install wall sconces is your bathroom. Place a sconce squarely on both sides of the mirror, above the wash basin. Alternatively if room doesn't allow it, you could place them directly onto the mirror, maybe one on each of the lower or upper corners. The aesthetics of your bathroom will look their best if you use candles.
One quick way to update the look of your home is with the judicious use of sconces for accent lighting. Sconces are an inexpensive way to add color and depth to the walls. In particular, the gentle light from candle wall sconces can give a subtle glow to your wall coverings while providing practical illumination.
In the early days of before electricity a candle wall sconce was typically the lighting in a home. Now they are used just about in every space in home. Including outdoor wall sconces that accent the exterior of your home. Exterior wall sconces are a little different from interior wall sconces. Because they are typically all sealed up to protect them from the elements. But they still serve the same great function of the interior lighting fixture.
For my bedroom I decide to go with a more traditional look, so I went with a couple of simple metal wall sconces. However, instead of electrical, I went with candle light sconces. These candle sconces projected a nice soft candle light that is just perfect for relaxing when I need to unwind. I also place some scented candles in them once in a while. This not only gives my room a wonderful ambiance, but it also proved me with a little aromatherapy at the same time.
Indoor sconces are an unobtrusive size, yet offer lighting for both functional and decorative uses. They work wherever you want soft light, such as in an entryway, hallway, bathroom, bedroom and in the ever-popular theater room. These sconces can also add complimentary ˝mood˝ lighting around a favorite Southwest painting or gorgeous entry art display.
