They great thing between these two types of lighting is they are available in several design options from traditional to contemporary. They can set a design scheme in your kitchen that will totally change the look of the room. If you are going for a classical look for your kitchen you should choose a traditional pendant or island light. If you are looking for a more modern look you should choose a transitional or contemporary pendant or island chandelier.
Often you will see pendant lights in groups of three. Always try and install an odd number. Occasionally, two will suffice but one or three is much better. Today pendants enhance the decor or feel of your room. Manufacturers offer many different styles of pendant lights. Those styles enhance your decor whether you are decorating your home in a modern style, traditional style or any other fancy you have.
Mixing direct lighting and indirect lighting will achieve the most dramatic effect. Since indirect lighting basically has the light source hidden from view, the light seems to bounce off the walls and ceilings, providing a glow and highlighting the walls and decor around it.
You can also arrange pendant lights in some geometrical design or in single line. Mini pendant lights can also be used to highlight beautiful collection of flowers, books, some beautiful painting, etc. You can also use the bulbs of different colors. Making pairs of different type of pendant track lighting is also a good option.
Pendants are used above kitchen islands or bars. Here, you will want to hang your pendant at 72˝ from the floor. This will allow anyone standing on either side of the island or bar to have a conversation without having the pendant in the middle of their eye sight line. And it won't be so high that you are blinded by the light bulb if you happen to look up.
